Meet your photographer
Hi, my name is Jo and I’d love to introduce myself to you!
Here are some fun facts for you to get to know me a little better…
My full name, Johanna, has an unusual spelling. It is pronounced Jo- anna so usually gets spelt wrong. I had a teacher who insisted on calling me Jo-Hannah when I was growing up. Johanna means “God is gracious’ and I actually love having an unusual spelling!
I met my hubby Mick, when I walked down the aisle at church. No! Not on my own wedding day, but at my sister’s wedding rehearsal when I walked down the aisle as a bridesmaid and spotted the Bestman – it was love at first sight. We were married in 1997 and I cannot imagine my world without him.
I am a proud Mummy to two amazing teenagers and one gorgeous Cockapoo, Gizzy who joined our family 5 years ago. Our precious kids, Sam and Kayla, gave my life new meaning and I love spending time with them, although nowadays this often means playing Beat Saber or Chess!!
I was born and brought up in Jersey and I love to go back there for holidays to visit family and of course my favourite beaches! I moved to the UK to be with my husband who was a guitarist in a band, he still plays with them now as well as leading worship at our local church.
I started my career as an accountant but also loved to volunteer, looking for ways to help people. I’ve always had a passion for photography and loved doing it as a part time job. Going full time as a photographer in 2017 was truly a dream come true. For me, photography is more than just taking a good photo, it is about bringing out the best in people, helping them relax and enjoy the experience. It is about capturing moments in time that will be cherished forever. I love taking time to build a rapport with my clients and, in particular, working with young children to produce natural photos whether in the studio or on location. That moment when a shy child starts to smile and then giggle makes it all worthwhile.
Thank you so much for considering me in your search for a photographer. I look forward to hearing from you and working with you to capture beautiful memories!
